USM Modular Furniture Haller was created with origins in architecture. More than 40 years ago, engineer Paul Schärer and architect Fritz Haller collaborated in developing a system of furniture based on modular architectural structures combining elegance and technical perfection.
Today it is considered a design classic and has been acquired for the permanent design collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York.A chrome-plated brass ball joint is the central element of USM’s Haller. Chromed steel tubes connect to the ball to form a stable framework in which the powder-coated metal panels (available in 11 colors) and internal organizational elements are mounted. Each unit is customized from the standard components to satisfy the individual user’s requirements.
The basic structure of the furniture is created according to the desired function. Various accessories can be added for further customization. The use of metal materials guarantees a long and durable life of the product. Options such as acoustic panels for sound absorption and glass doors to showcase each individually enhance the utilization of the furniture system. All metal panels, including the acoustic elements are powder coated and available in fourteen standard colors. In applying the color, we place great importance on an environmentally friendly, non-harmful coating processes.
